You know you have done summer sales for a long time when....

You can't count on both hands how many times you have moved

You have packing a Honda Civic with everything you will need for 5 months down to a science

You have driven more than 24 hours straight

You eat off Wal-Mart's plastic summer dishes half the year

You don't have any friends to recruit anymore because all your friends now do summer sales

When referring to a "bagel" it has nothing to do with the food

At the end of the summer you wonder how the heck you are going to get everything home

You only sleep in your own bed half the year

You get really excited when you don't have "the scratchy couch" for the summer

When you talk to someone you don't speak with on a regular basis, the first question they ask you is "what state are you in right now"

Saturday's are the longest day of the week

You refer to years by where you were that summer, not the actual number

You have changed your mailing address more times in 5 years than most people do in a life time

Every summer you say it's your last, yet in April your packing up the car to go sell again

At the end of the summer you never want to see your husband in khaki shorts and knocking shirt ever again

**The summer is over and we are done selling in Austin, I fly out on Saturday and Brennen left this morning with our loaded down civic... wearing his khaki shorts and knocking shirt... I tried to tell him he could wear something else!**

Quarter Dive

One of the highlights of the summer is the annual quarter dive! $1000 in quarters is thrown into the pool and based on how many accounts they sell, the quality of the sale, etc. determines at what point the guys get to jump in the pool to dive for quarters. Just imagine 20 guys swimming around in a 6x6 ft area searching for quarters on the bottom of the pool!

A Few Things

1. We found out today that we are going to be selling in Austin, TX this summer! I am so excited! For some weird reason I have this thing that I have always wanted to live in Texas, yet I have never even been there! Anyone been to Austin and have some good recommendations for shopping, eating, etc?

2. Shantay let us borrow her DVD of the Dunstan Baby Language and it is seriously AMAZING! We watched the DVD last night and just in the last 12 hours I swear Avalynn has cried 10x less than normal because we are able to tell right away what she needs. If you haven't seen it you should defiantly check it out!

3. My sister, Cami, is a Fashion class this semester and her teacher has encouraged them to participate in "Fashion Week". If she gets other people to participate as well she gets extra points applied to her final! So I thought I would help her out and pass the info along if anyone wants to help her out. Here is what she said in her e-mail:

"Hello my friends and family!

I am taking a fashion fundamentals class this semester and from this Tuesday the 19th through the Tuesday the 26th is FASHION WEEK! whoot whoot :) This means that I get to dress up all 8 days for the purpose of improving my image and building confidence. I am contacting you to ask you to join me. Sorry i should have sent this yesterday to give you a few days notice but I didn't so please forgive me. So if you'd like please dress up with me...if you do the incentive for me is that I get a point on my final for each person who participates and the incentive for you is I will be a better friend to you! great deal huh?

So dressing up means...kick it up one notch from what you usually wear. example...church dress everyday

Don't go buy anything new, just use what you got. Use makeup everyday, accessories, those ties boys, and nice shoes!

I told her I am doing my own version (I'm not wearing church dress everyday), I guess you could call it "not wearing mom clothes"! I decided to wear nicer shirts, heels (not slippers!), jewelry, and do something extra with my hair everyday. So for me thats stepping it up a notch because I would rather wear a sweatshirt everyday! If you want to play along for the week you can leave a comment here as well and I will pass it on to Cami!

4th of July

Our 4th of July here in Nashville was a little bit of a bummer. Around 5:00 when Krista and I started getting everything out for our big BBQ/volleyball/slip n slide party it started pouring rain! It would let up every so often, but for a majority of the rest of the night it rained and rained! That didn't stop the kids from going on our homemade slip n' slide or the guys playing volleyball until 11:00 though!

Another APX office has joined with ours here so we have full team now, and 5 more wives!! All the wives went to ice cream yesterday to get to know each other and I am excited to have them here in the office.

I put Brennen in charge of taking pictures so there aren't too many!

Some how Krista and I ended up grilling the whole night.

You can kind of see the baby bump starting to show up!

Memorial Day

The guys knocked during the day and then in the evening we went to do go-karts and eat pizza as their reward for beating the Omaha office! It was a lot of fun and great to spend a little time with Brennen... that time is far and few between in the summer. 

I am biased, but isn't Brennen so good looking!

Cancun

Last week we had the chance to go to Cancun with APX for their annual trip. Brennen worked hard all summer long and defiantly deserved to be on the trip...and I didn't mind joining him! We enjoyed laying on the beach, going to the markets, eating lots of food, and walking around downtown. The best part was a place called Selvatica, where we got to go on 12 zip lines through the jungle and then to a centoa, which is a natural water hole. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Our Summer Home

As most of you know Brennen works for APX Alarm, and goes to a different city every summer to work. The draft was today in Utah at the Skybox at the Gateway, a much anticipated day for all APX employees! We are going to Salt Lake City!! I know it kind of sounds weird, but there are so many good things about going there, and I am so excited! You wouldn't think it but the office that was there last year did 2200 accounts which is really good! I am so excited to be close to family and friends, and I have ALWAYS wanted to live in the Provo/Salt Lake part of Utah, now I get my chance!!
