Great Christmas Gift Idea

How Does She?, which by the way is an awesome new website, posted about a free canvas photo print from Canvas People. This would be a great Christmas gift for grandparents or yourself! I just wish I had some darling newborn pictures already done to make one.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cakes

While we were in St. George when my dad had his heart attack, my aunt Taija made the most amazing Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cakes! She posted the recipe on her blog so naturally I had to make them. The recipe makes a lot so we took some treats to some of our friends!

For your taste buds' pleasure:
The cakes are super easy to make just 5 ingredients:
1 spice cake mix
2 eggs
1 15 oz can pumpkin
1/2 C water
1 C mini chocolate chips
Mix everything together, spoon into greased muffin tins and bake at 350 for 14 minutes.
Let the cakes cool on racks and enjoy plain. . . or. . . Top with cream cheese frosting:
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese (softened)
1/2 C butter (softened)
3 1/2 - 4 C powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
Cream the butter, vanilla and cream cheese together. Add powdered sugar one cup at a time until the frosting is spreadable.

I piped the frosting on top, sprinkled with a little cinnamon, and put a candy corn on top!

Halloween

We had a really fun Halloween this year. On Thursday night we went to a party some of our friends were hosting. We ate lots of good food, played some games (Brennen won the donuts on a string!), and then watched Tales From the Krypt. APX hosted a Halloween party for their employees, which I helped plan as part of my job, and it turned out really fun! After the party we went to Bren's brother Sam's house for more food and some family Rock Band!

Our little friend Hudson was enthralled with Brennen's dad who was dressed as a cowboy. He asked where his horse was!

Idaho Falls Flag Football Champions

As many know, I have never blogged before. I haven't really even thought about it until Cassie set the computer in front of me and said, "Okay, time for your first blog." I shrugged one shoulder, the left corner of my lip rose to almost a smile as I realized, yes, it was time for my first blog.

I was invited by a number of elite athletes, some of south east Idaho's best, to participate in a competitive 7 on 7 flag football league. I consented. Each team we faced played exceptionally well, however we consistently played better. Going in to the tournament we had one early-season loss and one goal in mind, to win it all. In our last four games we defensively allowed under 20 points, amassed nearly ten interceptions, and frustrated offenses that seemed unstoppable to other teams. On the offensive side we frustrated defenses with speed, agility, and down right athleticism, averaging over 40 points per game.

Our championship game was no different. We rose to the occasion winning by 19 points, myself contributing 6 of them. On a snow laden field we left some of our best performances and formed even stronger friendships. (That version is for the regular bloggers)

We won the championship and I had some sweet TD's and some major picks this season, it was way rad. You should've seen us dude, we killed it. Colby, John, Zak, Vic, Craig, Nick, Paul, Brian, and all the other dudes we played with did awesome. I'm totally down for next year, and I'm pumped for the Turkey Bowl. (Guy version)

Lovin On Lately

I came across Beautiful Baby Boutique last week and instantly had a cart full! They have awesome prices on their things. Be sure to check out their Deal of the Week where they have items usually half off!

One of my biggest (ok I have a lot!) domestic challenges is making dinner. I just am not a fan. I think it's because I don't usually plan things out and so I come home from work wondering what I am going to make, then think of something, and don't have all the ingredients, etc. Well last night I found this website... Pocket Perfect Meal Planning. I looked into it, saw the recipes were actually normal ones (I have got some meal plan things where there is no way we would eat half the recipes) and decided to try it out. It seems so easy, and I love that the shopping list for the month is already made for you! Through the end of October if you buy one of the Monthly Pocket Packs you get another free month of recipes... that's 3 months worth of recipes and shopping lists for $15. I'm planning on just rotating the plans every 3 months and hoping I will never have to plan another weekly menu on my own!

Samster Mommy- She always has great tutorials for cute things, I can't wait to make this for the Little Miss!

Somewhat Simple- Just another lovely blog I have found lately

Forevermore Events- Have I told you that my mom is one AMAZING wedding/event planner and decorator?!? Check out this wedding that is screaming my name... pink, black and white with Zebra!

Feel free to leave some of your fav blogs...I love finding new ones!
